Climate and clothing:The temperature in Kaunas during October is typical of a Lithuanian autumn, the average temperature is around 10-150 C. Please, do not forget to take Your umbrella.

Electricity:
Electrical current in Lithuania is 220 volts, 50-cycle AC. Appliances designed to operate on 110 / 120 volts need a voltage converter and a plug adapter.

Passport / Visa:Entry visas are not required for citizens of the EU and most European countries, the USA and Canada. Citizens of other countries can obtain a visa at the Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate in their country. A valid passport is required. A letter of invitation will be provided for those who need it. Banks
Money can be easily exchanged at all main banks and exchange offices in Kaunas. Traditional  banking hours are: Monday to Friday 800 – 1600. Banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There are automatic exchanging machines located outside the major banks and near main shops to provide a 24-hours service.
Local currency in Lithuania is Lithuanian litas (Lt). As of November 2005, EUR 1 is Lt 3,5. Convertible foreign currency may be exchanged at the airport, hotels, banks and foreign exchange offices at the daily exchange rate.

TransportationTransportation will not be provided from Vilnius and Karmelava (Kaunas) airports to main hotels in Kaunas. Participants may contact the Secretariat of the Congress for further arrangements.

InsuranceAll participants are strongly advised to carry the proper travel and health insurance, as 1st Baltic Congress of Radiology cannot accept hability for any accidents or injuries that may occur during the Congress. Please consult Your travel agent regarding the matter.

Public transportation in Kaunas
The historical area of Kaunas is relatively compact, and all major sites are within walking distance from the city center. Kaunas has fairly comprehensive network of local bus, minibus and trolleybus routes. Bus and trolleybus tickets may be purchased at most newspapers kiosks and directly from driver. Minibus tickets are purchased directly from the driver. Bus (trolleybus) ticket price is 0,70 litas, minibus ticket price is 1,5 litas.Medical Service
The number for medical emergency service in Lithuania is 112. Pharmacies are open from 800 – 2000, Monday to Friday. Some of the pharmacies (duty pharmacies) are open 24 hours a day.
