Function and job description for specialist doctors
Description of the department:
The department accomplishes app. 22.000 examinations annually including CT- and UL-scannings.
This is a department characterized by its great working pace and where we are not afraid of thinking
unconventionally, if there are better resolutions than the conventional ones.
The department is perfectly digitalised and is a highly modern image diagnostic department, where service,
quality and waiting times have lately undergone a remarkable improvement. Examinations now will be
digitally stored in the region’s PACS-system and recorded at the radiological department.
Apart from the examinations filling the needs of the clinical department, the department serves an
Orthopaedic Surgery, which is a specialist in implanting artificial hip- and knee-joints besides shoulder and
elbow surgery.
Staff-structure:
The physician staff at the radiological department consists currently of 3 head physicians, incl. the leading
head physician. The department management comprises the leading head physician and the department’s
nurse.
Job description:
The physician should have recognition as a specialist in radiology, besides suiting the National Board of
Health’s requirements concerning the employment for a physician position.
The physician will take part in leadership tasks of professional and strategic/organizational character at the
department.
The physician is required to participate in relevant courses or congresses in order to preserve and improve
knowledge and competence.
There are 2 radiologists, approximately 10 radiographers/x-ray assistants and secretary in each section of
the hospital. Applying experience in the field of oncology is quite restricted. Appr. 25.000 examinations are
done in each section. The main field of examinations consists of conventional radiology, ultrasound and CT.
